In this course you will learn to recognize the need for and benefits of defensive driving be able to identify risky driving attitudes and behaviors. You will also be taught techniques you can use to maintain control in adverse driving situations and be presented with driving skills and techniques to use in avoiding collisions and violations caused by vehicle or driving conditions and become familiar with the skills and techniques that allow you to avoid collisions and violations. You will also learn to spot the common types of driving errors that contribute to collisions. Students will receive a National Safety Council Certificate which entitles them to a 10% discount on their insurance and allow them to remove up to four points from their license. Designed exclusively for young drivers between the ages of 16 and 24, this course will teach them how to take responsibility for their driving behavior. This course uses video, discussion, and role-play designed to help them understand how inexperience, distractions, and peer pressure cause unique driving hazards, how speeding, alcohol, and "party drugs" greatly increase their risk of injury or death, and how, as a driver or passenger, they can greatly reduce their risk by taking control.

School Bus Driver Safety. Cost: $50. Length: 6 Hours. Min: 10, Max 40.
This course encourages driver involvement and interaction in the learning process. This non-lecture, participant centered format allows both experienced and new drivers to identify with the material and safe driving concepts presented. Throughout the course, drivers are encouraged to employ their reasoning and critical thinking skills to arrive at responses to questions and traffic situations that reflect the challenges they are faced with while driving a school bus.
Transporting Passengers with Special Needs. Cost: $50. Length: 6 Hours. Min: 10, Max: 40
Designed to comply with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, this course teaches both defensive driving techniques and safe passenger assistance procedures. Through individual and "Driver Learning Team" exercises, group discussion, and hands-on demonstrations, students learn about vehicle inspection procedures, handling a passenger pick-up site, defensive driving skills and techniques, maintaining a cushion of safety, backing conditions, passenger assistance procedures. effective communication skills, assisting passengers in and out of the vehicle, safe lift procedures, and securing passengers within the vehicle.
Van Driver Safety Cost: $40. Length: 4 Hours. Min: 10, Max: 40
Vans are very different than passenger cars – they are bigger, heavier, have larger blind spots, and require longer following and stopping distances. This course teaches drivers of both cargo and large (15 passenger) vans skills including van characteristics, conducting a pre-trip Inspection, using a cushion of Safety, blind Spots, City, Highway and Rural Driving, and backing.
