Community Partners

Administering First AidIn today’s busy world, we all how difficult fund-raising can be. Let’s face it, there are only so many bake sales, pancake breakfasts, candy sales, car washes, etc. that one can handle. And we all know what a challenge it can be to get people to come out to help. How about considering a different way to make some money for your organization by hosting a Bethel Safety Associates Safety Class?

Unlike other training organizations, Bethel Safety Associates does not have a central classroom where students can come. Instead, we rely on a network of “Community Partners,” organizations that provide us with a classroom and other support in exchange for a portion of the proceeds of the class. Some of the organizations that we have worked with include the Town of Bethel, the Monticello Masonic Lodge, Cornell Cooperative Extension, and other entities in both Sullivan and Orange Counties.

In addition to providing a valuable community service, you can also earn $100, $200, $300 or more, all for little or no work. All that is required of you is to have someone from your organization open the facility about one hour prior to the scheduled start time. They would also need to stay and give a brief overview of the emergency procedures, exit locations, locations of the bathrooms, etc. They will be given five minutes to do this. If it takes less time, and your organization is looking for members, they can use the time to do a short recruitment. Also, if your organization is running another fund-raiser (50/50, ticket sales, etc), you can also sell them at that time, before or after the class, or at lunch. Then, we need someone to come back about half an hour prior to scheduled end time to ensure the room is left the way you want it. If you have someone from your organization taking the class, they would be the ideal person to do this.

Your organization can also help itself by getting people to take the class, either through word of mouth, organizational newsletters, flyers, etc. The amount you make is dependent upon the number of students in the class, so the more you have (all classes have minimum and maximum numbers, however), the more you are likely to make. The absolute minimum will be $75, with a maximum of around $350 or so and an average of around $200.

We are fully insured (additional named certificates available upon request) and offer a money-back guarantee. If any of the students are not satisfied, they will receive a full refund (must complete request on same day as class and they will NOT receive credit for the course) on the day of the class. In addition, we offer our Community Partners other benefits as well including gift certificates (to use in giveaways), preferred dates for courses, and invitations to special events. If you think your organization would be interested, please complete our Community Partner Interest Survey (pdf) and return it to us either via the address above, email or fax it to (845) 468-5428. This is not a commitment to participate in the program, it just gives me some basic information. After I review it, I will contact the person listed on the form and discuss the program in more detail. Please keep in mind that, in order to allow time to advertise and obtain materials, all classes require a 60 day advance notice.

If you know of an organization that would like to sponsor a class, have them contact us for more information. We are currently authorized to teach in Sullivan, Orange, Rockland, Ulster, Delaware, and Broome Counties in New York and Wayne and Pike Counties in Pennsylvania.
